Who would have thought we would be still hurling in December but with great excitement we headed to Cahir for the county semi-final against Aherlow. Our under 21B St. Pats Gaels gave us something to cheer about as winter set in. To play hurling on the pitch was a near impossibility for both teams but in the first half St Pats Gaels were dominant all over the field.
The second half started with another point for the Gaels, putting them four up and we were all getting ready to head for Semple Stadium… When Aherlow got the goal from a 21 yard free things changed and we were left reeling. Suddenly they could do no wrong and converted at every opportunity and from all angles. When Aherlow got the lead there was never a doubt who was going to the final. The overall feeling as we left the pitch was with a little more self belief that we too could be county Champions. Thanks to Chris Mick and all the lads for the entertainment and looking forward to doing it all again next year.
