St. Patricks GAA Lotto

Posted in Development on March 31, 2011 by Imreoir

St. Patricks GAA are launching their Lotto this Friday night in Anglims bar Cloneen at 9pm. All persons are welcome.

In the parish of Drangan and Cloneen, there are officially three GAA clubs: St. Patrick’s Senior, St. Patrick’s Juvenile and St. Patrick’s Ladies. All of these clubs need funding and within a small parish this is not an easy task, especially in difficult economic times. Officials from the three clubs have come together to try and come up with a common funding stream and the outcome was to run a St. Patrick’s GAA lotto.

The structure of the lotto is as follows:

  • Pick 4 numbers from 26
  • €2 per ticket
  • Initial jackpot of €1000
  • Fortnightly draw
  • Match 3s share in €100
  • Promoters prize for selling a jackpot winning ticket – a prize with a value corresponding to 10% of the jackpot
  • Every lotto player is in with a chance of spinning the wheel(lotto wheel with a top prize of €1000). Spinning the wheel will be once every 8 weeks

St. Patricks GAA would like to thank the following people that gave sponsorship or who offered their services for free to help setup this lotto:

  • Noonans Shop Cloneen – sponsored the lotto sign which is erected on the gable end of the dressing rooms in Anner Park
  • Richard O’Brien & Liam Fitzgerald, Electrical Contractors – sponsored the lotto sign which is erected in the GAA field in Drangan
  • Rebecca Hayden – who done the graphic design of the signs, tickets and the lotto wheel.
  • Kathleen & Gerry Horan, Montip Engineering – who manufactured the lotto wheel and stand.
  • Derek Noonan – who cut out the lotto wheel

We encourage people to support St. Patrick’s GAA through this venture. We plan to provide an online lotto service over the next number of months also.
