Semi Final Action

Best of luck to our U12 Footballers and U14 Hurlers who are both in Semi Final this weekend.

U12 Footballers are first in action when they play Fr Sheehys this Friday the 28th in Newcastle at 7 in the South Semi Final.

Our U14 Hurlers then take to the field on Saturday 29th in the County Semi final of the Feile where Cashel King Cormacs are the opponents. This match takes place in Dolla at 11:45. If they win then they will play either Ballina or JK Brackens in the Final @ 1.

Under 12 Football
On this Friday evening our under 12 footballers play the South Tipperary semi final in Newcastle at 7.00pm against either Fr. Sheehys or Clonmel Óg.

Under 14 Football
On Thursday evening last our under 14 footballers defeated Ardfinnan by 5-5 to 2-9.
The team was: Jamie Brett, Kyle Colville, Luke Fox, Eoin Fitzgerald, Evan White, Jack Cleere, James Ryan, Aidan Fitzgerald, Cian Crannitch, Bill Cuddihy, Ryan Crannitch, Cathal Foley, Robbie Noonan, James Hogan, Daithi Hogan. William Cleere.
Our remaining under 14 football fixtures are:
Sunday 30th April in Killenaule at 12.00 Killenaule V St. Patricks
Thursday 4th May in Anner Park Cloneen at 7.00 St. Patricks V Grangemockler/Ballyneale

Under 14 Hurling
Our under 14 hurlers play Cashel King Cormacs in the Co. Semi Final of Feile na Gael on this Saturday 29th April at 11.45 in Dolla. The winners will play Ballina or J.K. Brackens at 1.15pm.

Under 16 Football
On Monday of last week our under 16 footballers defeated Knockmealdown Gaels by 2 -14 to 3-7 in a match played in Fethard. The team was: Cathal Mahoney, Pat Griffin, Matt McCormack, Darragh hall, Ciarán Moroney, Peter Wall, Keith Morrissey, Stephen Crotty, Ryan Walsh, Robert Hackett, Richard Anglim, Páraic O Brien, Darragh Hurley, Evan Looby, Bob Barton. Shane Neville, Matthew Burke.

County Football League
Our Junior Footballers played their second game of the County League last Friday night where Solohead were the visitors to Cloneen. We were well in control throughout the game and ran out easy winners on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-6. The team on the night was: Richie Needham, Ciaran Mockler, Colm Dunne, Conor Gorey, Conor Clancy, Paddy Moroney, Shane Gorey, Jason Hayes, Cameron Moynihan, Robbie Meagher, Marcus O Halloran, Darren Boland, Mark Slattery, Tony O’Brien, Aaron Cronin. Niall Keane, Nicky Kearney, Kieran Clancy, Brian Anglim, Michael Boland, Keelan O’Neil. John Moroney, Cathal Mahoney.
Minor Football Championship

Our minor footballers got a walk over from Knockmealdown Gaels on Wednesday evening last. On this Saturday afternoon our minor footballers play Ardfinnan at 5.00 in Cahir.

Allianz Football League

Congratulations to Aidan Buckley on being a member of the Co. Tipperary Senior Football panel who won the Division 3 final in Croke Park on Saturday last. However Aidan left the celebrations early and returned to Drangan on Saturday night in order to be fit to line out for St. Patricks Junior Hurlers on Sunday in Emly. If all our players showed the same dedication and commitment success cannot be far off.

Well done Aidan.

 

Under 12 Football

Our U.12B footballers defeated Ardfinnan in Anner Park Cloneen on Saturday week last 1st April.

The final score was: 5-7 to 2-1. On Tuesday week last we drew with Fethard in Anner Park Cloneen.       The team was: Conor Fitzgerald, Joe Traynor, Conor Brett, Pat Moroney, Seán Nash, Finn Madigan, Robbie Noonan, Danny Broderick, Willie Cleere, Evan Holohan, Dylan Meagher, Daithi Hogan, Oran Gahan & Dylan Meagher.

On Monday week last our under 12 D footballers were defeated by Clonmel Óg by 3-5 to 3-4. The team was Diesel Outram, John Carroll, Keelan Strappe, Shane Horan, Charlie Noonan, Mike O’Dwyer, Seán Fitzgerald, Cormac Duggan, Cathal Keane, Joey Fitzgerald, Tom Ryan, Eoin Morrissey.

 

Under 14 Football

Under 14 Hurling

On Sunday last in Ballylooby our under 14 hurlers won our first trophy of 2017 when they defeated St. Marys B in the South Tipperary B Final of Feile na Gael. The team was: Danny Broderick, Brian O’Halloran, Luke Fox, Eoin Fitzgerald, James Ryan, Jack Cleere, Evan White, Cian Crannitch, Cathal Foley, Bill Cuddihy, Ryan Crannitch, Jamie Brett, James Hogan, Aidan Fitzgerald, Willie Cleere. Robbie Noonan, Kyle Colville.

 

Under 16 Football

On Monday week last our Under 16 footballers were defeated by Carrick Swans and on Saturday last we were defeated by Killenaule.

The team was: Cathal Mahoney, Shane Neville, Matthew McCormack, Darragh Hall, Ciarán Moroney, Peter Wall, Keith Morrissey, Robert Hackett, Stephen Crotty, Mikey O’Brien, Richie Anglim, Pauric O’Brien, Tommy O’Brien, Ryan Walsh, Darragh Hurley. Pat Griffin, Robert Barton, Evan Looby, Matthew Burke.

Monday 17th April in Fethard at 6.30 Anner Gaels V Knockmealdown Gaels.                                                                                                  

 

County Hurling League                                                                 
Our Junior hurlers were in action in Emly last Sunday morning in the 3rd round of the County Hurling League. Even though we only had 14 players for the first half of the game our lads showed great work rate and commitment and went in at half time leading by 3 points 0-9 to 0-6. After a couple of late arrivals we were able to play the second half with 15 and ended up winning on a score of 1-15 to 1-12. The team on the day was: John Moroney, Jason Hayes, Willie O’Brien, Paddy Moroney, Conor Clancy, Cathal Mahony, Shane Gorey, Aidan Buckley, Tony O’Brien, Nicky Kearney, Richie Needham, Aaron Cronin, Keelan O’Neil, Neil Gleeson, Niall Keane, Ciarán Mockler.

 Congratulations to Aidan Buckley who was part of the Tipperary Senior Football Panel who won the Division 3 League Football Final against Louth last Saturday in Croke Park and then lined out for the club less than 20 hours later in the County Hurling League.

County Football League

Minor Football Championship        

On Wednesday next 19th April our minor footballers play Knockmealdown Gaels in Cahir at 7.00pm.

Under 15 Interdivisional Hurling
On Saturday last Tommy O’Brien lined out at centre half back for South Tipperary under 15 hurlers against North and West Tipperary. The North were victorious by 5 points but the South defeated the West in the Roger Ryan Shield Final. Well done to Tommy and his South colleagues.

Under 12 Football

County Hurling League

Our Junior Hurlers play their third game of the county league on this Sunday in Emly at 12.00 against Emly.
Minor Football Championship Our minor football game against Ballingarry was played on Thursday evening when Anner Gaels were victorious by 1-11 to 0-4. The team was: Darragh Hurley, Eoin Ryan, Michael Boland, Harry Butler, Conor Harrington, Conor Duggan, Dale Murphy, Barry O’Dwyer, Jack Dolan, Jack Ward, Ross McCormack, Jesse McCormack, Frank Meagher, Jamie Broderick, Liam Quigley. James Fitzgerald, Niall Mockler, Robert Hackett, Richard Anglim, Seán Ryan, Stephen Crotty. Due to injury Pauric O’Brien was unable to tog out.
St. Patricks Fun Run/Walk

St Patricks GAA Club held a very successful Fun Run/Walk on St Patricks Day. It started at Drangan Community Centre and finished at the Clubhouse in Cloneen where refreshments were provided to all the participants. We thank Sam Richardson for the hard work he put into organising this event which looks like becoming an Annual Event in our calendar.
