Minor Hurling Championship
Our minor hurlers got a walk over from Kilsheelan-Kilcash on Sunday evening last.

Junior Football Championship
Our junior Footballers play Ballingarry on this Sunday at midday in Fethard.

Junior Hurling Championship
It was a busy week for our Junior Hurlers who had 2 games. First up was Carrick Swan last Wednesday in a playoff to see who would advance to a quarter final. We started off slowly and were behind for a good bit of the first half until a goal from Aaron Cronin brought the game level and we never looked back from there. 2 further goals from Mark Mullally in the second half gave us a commanding lead and ended up winning on a scoreline of 3-10 to 0-10. We now play Fr Sheehys in the South Quarter Final on Sunday 9th July. The team on the night was: John Moroney, Conor Gorey, Paddy Moroney, Jason Hayes, Conor Clancy, Cathal Mahony, Shane Gorey, Aidan Buckley, Damien Barry, Aaron Cronin, Richie Needham, Nicky Kearney, Tony O’Brien, Mark Mullally, Neil Gleeson, Colm Dunne, Robbie McCormack, Willie O’Brien, Ciarán Mockler, Conor Barry, Paul Horan, Cameron Moynihan.
The second game our Junior hurlers played was last Sunday in the County League against Grangemockler. We fielded a much changed team from the Carrick Swan and in the end Grangemockler had too much firepower for us and they won in a scoreline of 5-16 to 1-13. The team was: John Moroney, Ciarán Mockler, Conor Barry, Jason Hayes, Joey Noonan, Cathal Mahony, Colm Dunne, Aidan Buckley, Nicky Kearney, Niall Keane, Willie O’Brien, Robbie McCormack, Keelan O’Neil, Cameron Moynihan, Aaron Cronin, Conor Clancy, Conor Gorey, Richie Needham, Paddy Moroney, Michael Boland.

Minor Hurling Championship
Our minor hurlers play Kilsheelan-Kilcash on this Sunday evening at 7.00 in Davin Park Carrick-on-Suir.

Junior Football Championship
Our Junior Footballers played their third game of the championship last Saturday evening in Marlfield where Ballylooby were the opposition. After failing to win our first 2 games a win a win here was vital to get back on track. Unfortunately due to injuries and holidays we fielded an under strength team but credit must go to the lads who took to the field as they fought until the final whistle but came up short in the end on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-6. One positive from the match was the return to the field of play by Paul Horan after his recent illness. It was great to see him coming back and we hope to see more of him as the summer goes on. The team on the night was: Richie Needham, Shane Gorey, Ciaran Mockler, Michael Boland, Conor Gorey, Paddy Moroney, Conor Clancy, Joey Noonan, Nicky Kearney, Kieran Clancy, Tony O’Brien, Brian Anglim, Willie O’Brien, Cameron Moynihan, Eamon Needham, Paul Horan, John Moroney and Keelan O’Neil. We now have 2 games left to play in the football championship and will probably have to win both of them to have a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.
Our Junior hurlers play Carrick Swan this Wednesday in Kilsheelan at 7;30 in a play off with the winner heading to the quarter finals where they will play Fr Sheehys. Our Junior hurlers will also see action in the County League when they will play Grangemockler in Cloneen at 12 this Sunday.
Our Minor hurlers also play this Sunday when they play Kilsheelan in Carrick at 7.

Junior Hurling Championship
Our Junior Hurlers play Carrick Swans in a play off on this Wednesday 22nd June in Kilsheelan at 7.30pm. The winners will play Fr, Sheehys in the South Tipperary Quarter Final on Sunday 9th July in Kilsheelan at 1.00pm.Re

Bereavements

Posted in Uncategorized on June 6, 2017 by St Patricks GAA

We extend the sympathy of St. Patricks GAA club to Kathleen Foley on the recent death of her husband Jim. Jim was a lifelong supporter of the GAA and attended local matches up to less than a year before his death. He was also Vice President of the Club up to his passing. In his younger days Jim was a regular member of St. Patricks football teams and lined out in the south finals of 1951 and 1954. His height made him a natural target man at full forward where he made the breaks for others around him including Seamus Moloney who once scored 3-8 against Fethard senior team from the breaks Jim made for him. With an interest in all sports Jim was once suspended by the GAA for attending a rugby match in Thomond Park in Limerick.
Jim’s sons Seán and Chris both lined out for St. Patricks teams with Chris also representing Tipperary at Minor, Under 21 and Intermediate hurling as well as winning Colleges All Irelands with St. Kierans College in Kilkenny as well as South and Co. titles with St. Patricks. The next generation has now arrived on the scene with Cathal, Clodagh and Donncha all wearing the St. Patricks colours. Their mother Mairead is of course a member of well known GAA family the O’Connor’s of Ballyvadlea. May the soul of Jim Foley rest in peace.

We also extend sympathy to the Tobin family of Prospect on the recent death of their mother Mrs. Maureen Tobin. In his day Raphael was a very good goalkeeper on several successful St. Patricks Juvenile teams and Donal played from under age to adult until emigration stole him from us. Raphael’s wife Camilia was well known camogie and ladies football player and represented Tipperary at camogie with her sister Olwyn. May the soul of Maureen Tobin rest in peace.

Junior Hurling Championship
After losing to Ballybacon-Grange and drawing with Carrick Swan a win against Grangemockler was vital in order to keep our interest alive. Unfortunately after a good start we couldn’t keep the momentum up as Grangemockler-Ballyneale ran out winners on a scoreline of 1-24 to 2-12. The team on the night was: John Moroney, Jason Hayes, Paddy Moroney, Conor Gorey, Conor Clancy, Cathal Mahony, Shane Gorey, Aidan Buckley, Tony O’Brien, Aaron Cronin, Richie Needham, Nicky Kearney, Neil Gleeson, Robbie Meagher, Robbie McCormack, Damien Barry, Colm Dunne, Brendan Gleeson, Marcus o Halloran, Willie O’Brien, Ciarán Mockler, Niall Keane. We now have to wait on other results and also need a victory against Ballylooby in order to qualify.
