Junior Hurling Championship
After losing to Ballybacon-Grange and drawing with Carrick Swan a win against Grangemockler was vital in order to keep our interest alive. Unfortunately after a good start we couldn’t keep the momentum up as Grangemockler-Ballyneale ran out winners on a scoreline of 1-24 to 2-12. The team on the night was: John Moroney, Jason Hayes, Paddy Moroney, Conor Gorey, Conor Clancy, Cathal Mahony, Shane Gorey, Aidan Buckley, Tony O’Brien, Aaron Cronin, Richie Needham, Nicky Kearney, Neil Gleeson, Robbie Meagher, Robbie McCormack, Damien Barry, Colm Dunne, Brendan Gleeson, Marcus o Halloran, Willie O’Brien, Ciarán Mockler, Niall Keane. We now have to wait on other results and also need a victory against Ballylooby in order to qualify.
Club Players Association
We would ask all players, officers and supporters to register with the CPA as we try and get a proper GAA Calender and fixture list that benefits Club Players. Registration is free, only takes a minute and can be done at http://www.gaaclubplayers.com .Re

Bereavements
We extend the sympathy of St. Patricks GAA club to Kathleen Foley on the recent death of her husband Jim. Jim was a lifelong supporter of the GAA and attended local matches up to less than a year before his death. In his younger days Jim was a regular member of St. Patricks football teams and lined out in the south finals of 1951 and 1954. His height made him a natural target man at full forward where he made the breaks for others around him including Seamus Moloney who once scored 3-8 against Fethard senior team from the breaks Jim made for him. With an interest in all sports Jim was once suspended by the GAA for attending a rugby match in Thomond Park in Limerick.
Jim’s sons Seán and Chris both lined out for St. Patricks teams with Chris also representing Tipperary at Minor, Under 21 and Intermediate hurling as well as winning Colleges All Irelands with St. Kierans College in Kilkenny as well as South and Co. titles with St. Patricks. The next generation has now arrived on the scene with Cathal, Clodagh and Donncha all wearing the St. Patricks colours. Their mother Mairead is of course a member of well known GAA family the O’Connor’s of Ballyvadlea. May the soul of Jim Foley rest in peace.
We also extend sympathy to the Tobin family of Prospect on the recent death of their mother Mrs. Maureen Tobin. In his day Raphael was a very good goalkeeper on several successful St. Patricks Juvenile teams and Donal played from under age to adult until emigration stole him from us. Raphael’s wife Camilia was well known camogie and ladies football player and represented Tipperary at camogie with her sister Olwyn. May the soul of Maureen Tobin rest in peace.
