Under 21 Hurling
Our U21 Hurlers were in Semi Final action last Sunday in Ned Hall Park where Carrick Davins were the opponents. After a comprehensive win over Clerihan in the first round hopes were high that this team could reach the final. The first half was a tight affair until Aidan Buckley goaled with a few minutes of the half left and we went into the break leading 1-8 to 4. Early on in the second half we went 9 points clear and looked to be heading for a win but Davins had other ideas and scored 1-2 in a couple of minutes to leave only 4 in it. Fortunately that was as good as it got for Davins and a Conor Harrington goal put daylight between the teams. For the remaining 10 minutes we outscored Davins by 6 points to 1 and we ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-17 to 1-8. The final will take place at 12.00 on this Sunday 19th November. Venue will be decided after the other semi final has been played. The team last Sunday was: Eoghan Hurley, Michael Boland, Paul Moloney, Eoin Ryan, Conor Gorey, Cathal Mahoney, Barry O Dwyer, Joey Noonan, Ciarán Mockler (Captain), Frank Meagher, Conor Duggan, Darren Boland, Jamie Broderick, Aidan Buckley, Conor Harrington, Jack Purcell, Seán Ryan, Alex O Donovan, Cameron Moynihan, Niall Mockler, Niall Keane, James Fitzgerald.
GAA Annual General Meetings The AGM of St. Patricks Juvenile GAA Club will be held on Friday 17th November at 8.00pm and the AGM of St. Patricks Senior GAA Club will be held on Friday 1st December also at 8.00pm. Bereavements
We extend the sympathy of St. Patricks GAA club to the Hickey, Fleming and Grace families on the recent death of Mrs. Kitty Hickey of Cloran. Her son Robert Hickey was a prominent member of several St. Patricks under age teams and won South and County Minor Hurling Championships with Ballingarry Gaels in 1994 when helping to defeat a star studded Toomevara side in the Co. final. In 1997 Robert helped Ballingarry Gaels to victory over Mullinahone in the South Under 21 Hurling final and went on to suffer a narrow defeat at the hands of Borrisileigh in the Co. Final. Kitty’s older son Mick Fleming
was a prominent member of several St. Patricks under age teams before playing for Clonmel Kickhams and Killenaule. May she rest in peace.
We also extend the sympathy of St. Patricks GAA Club to the O’Connell Families of Lismoynan and Comeragh Drive Clonmel on the recent death of Jimmy O’Connell RIP.
Before moving to Clonmel Jimmy won a South Tipperary Junior Hurling title playing wing forward for St. Patricks in 1963. In Clonmel Jimmy joined St. Marys Hurling Club with whom he had a very illustrious career and his son DJ followed in his footsteps with Club and also with the South Division. May Jimmy Rest in Peace.
