Bereavement
We extend the sympathy of St. Patricks GAA Club to the Clancy Family on the death of Lolo Clancy RIP of Clonmelan in Co. Westmeath and formerly Magoury Drangan.
Lolo was a very prominent footballer in his younger days winning South Tipperary and Co. Tipperary Junior and Senior titles in 1953 with the Drangan Juniors and the Senior team St. Patricks.
After the glory days of 1953 many of Lolos colleagues emigrated and played their football and hurling on foreign fields while Lolo and his colleagues kept the home flag flying and contested semi finals and finals in both hurling and football up to the late 1950s.
Lolo continued his involvement in the GAA in his adopted club Clonmellan Co. Westmeath where he served as club chairman and saw his son Pat line out for the Westmeath Senior Hurlers.
