Co. Hurling League
Our Junior Hurlers played their first game of the year on Sunday last. Rockwell Rovers were the opposition in the first round of the County Hurling League in New Inn. The game was played in wintery conditions and at one stage in the second half it looked like the game might have to be abandoned as a result of the conditions. We went in at half time only 3 points down despite playing against the wind. In the second half at one stage we went 8 points behind but managed to pull it back to the minimum near the end but unfortunately that was as close as it got and we ended up losing on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-11. The team on the day was: Willie O’Brien, Conor Corey, Eoin Ryan, Paddy Moroney, Ciaran Mockler, Richie Needham, Nicky Kearney, Joey Noonan, Conor Duggan, Robbie Meagher, Tony O’Brien, Mark Mullally, James Fitzgerald, Brian McCormack, Jamie Broderick, Barry O’Dwyer, Michael Boland, Cathal Mahoney, Sean Ryan, Mikey O’Brien.

The team was: Tyler McCormack, Jack O’Donoghue, Keith Morrissey, Darragh Hall, Richie Anglim, Cathal O’Mahoney, Pauric O’Brien, Darragh Hurley, Peter Wall, Robbie Hackett, Ciaran Moroney, Ryan Walsh, Mikey O’Brien, Stephen Crotty, Aidan Fitzgerald, Cathal Foley, Ryan Crannitch, Keenan Ahearne. Co. Football League
Our Junior Footballers got their year underway last Sunday when they played Nenagh in the first round of the County Football league. The game was played in terrible conditions as torrential rain before and during the game made the pitch almost unplayable. It took both teams a while to get used to the conditions and as a result the first half was a low scoring affair where we led by the minimum on a scoreline of 1-2 to 4 points. The second half we took control and ended up winners on a scoreline of 3-7 to 7.
