Club Notes 5/10/20

Under 12 D Football
On Sunday last our boys travelled to Kilsheelan where they had victories over Cahir by 5-4 to 3-2, Moyle Rovers by 0-2 to 0-1 and Clerihan by 4-3 to 0-1. Players in action were Matt Lawrence, Mikey Slattery, Luke Power, Eoin O’Brien, Jack O’Donnell, Mikey Grace, Jim Noonan, Dara Fitzgerald, Aidan Morrissey, Liam Richardson, Jack Gleeson, James Egan, Tom Butler and Turlough Moroney.

Under 14 Football
On Sunday last our boys travelled to O’Sullivan Park Ballingarry where they took on the local team in atrocious wind and rain. After a great battle Ballingarry won by 3-1 to 1-5.
The team was Adam O’Connell, Mike O’Dwyer, Conor Brett, Cathal Keane, Oran Gahan, Finn Madigan, Charlie Noonan, Seán Nash, Hayden Fleming, Seán Fitzgerald, Cormac Duggan, Eoin Morrissey, Diesel Outram, Tom Ryan, Dylan Meagher.

Minor Football
Our Minor Footballers played their final group game last Tuesday evening in Kilsheelan when they took on Carrick Swan. Due to injuries we only had 15 fit players available to us. Although the lads had spells in the game where they played some good football, they came out on the wrong side of a 6-8 to 1-5 scoreline. The team on the night was: Brian O’Halloran, Pat Moroney, Cathal Foley, Luke Fox, Bill Cuddihy, Keith Morrissey, Cian Crannitch, Aidan Fitzgerald, James Ryan, Danny Broderick, Ryan Crannitch, Jamie Brett Robbie Noonan, Matt McCormack, Eoin Fitzgerald. We would like to thank players and management for all their effort throughout what was a strange year.

Under 21 Football
Our U21 Footballers were in South Final action last Thursday night under lights in Cahir where Mullinahone were the opposition. In what was a tight game for the first 40 minutes, Mullinahone finished the stronger and won on a scoreline of 1-12 to 4-11. The team on the night was: Tyler McCormack (Fethard), Keith Morrissey (St Patricks), Barry O’Dwyer (St Patricks), Michael Boland (St Patricks), Aidan Fitzgerald (St Patricks), Eoin Ryan (St Patricks), Richie Anglim (Fethard), (Ryan Walsh (Fethard), Darragh Hurley (Fethard), Peter Wall (Fethard), Conor Harrington (Fethard), Jesse McCormack (Fethard), Pauric O’Brien (St Patricks), Jamie Broderick (St Patricks), Stephen Crofty (Fethard), Cathal O Mahoney (Fethard), Micheál Quinlan (Fethard), Cathal Foley (St Patricks), Dale Murphy (St. Patricks), Matt McCormack (St Patricks), Seán Ryan (St Patricks), James Fitzgerald (St Patricks), Ryan Crannitch (St Patricks), Keelan Ahearn (Fethard). We would like to thank players and management for their hard work and effort throughout the year.

Bereavements We extend sympathy to the Molloy Family Prospect on the recent death of Collette Geoghegan (nee Molloy) at the early age of 47 following an illness. Like the rest of her family Collette was involved in Community life in both Drangan and her adopted Fethard. May she rest in peace. Sympathy is also extended to the Wilson and McGarry Families on the recent death of Ruth McGarry (nee Wilson) who died suddenly last week. A native of Rathkenny Ruth had retired to her native Rathkenny some years ago and became involved in local community life on her retirement. May she rest in peace.
