Congratulations
Well done to the Tipperary Senior Footballers on a great victory in the Munster Final on Sunday last in Cork. We say a special word of congratulations to captain Conor Sweeney from Ballyporeen. Conor has often been a thorn in the side of St. Patricks hurling teams when lining out for his native Skeheenarinky but we salute his achievement on Sunday last whnen he was the first Tipperary man to lift the Munster Senior Football cup since 1935 when Jim Noonan of Cloneen was a member of the Tipperary team that defeated Cork in Fermoy. 1935 was a significant year for our parish with Phil O’Shea of Cloneen helping Tipperary to win a Munster Junior Football Final and Jimmy Hickey of Drangan winning a Munster Minor Football final with Tipperary.
